One article that caught my eye recently was this article from Time Out New York. Despite being humorous, it had some great points.
Hopefully reading the article will offer some insightful advice. Note that some parts really only pertain to New Yorkers. It's called "Phase Three" because it was part of a 3-article special about Jobs. Phase I was finding your dream job (this article kind of sucked) and Phase II was keeping your job. Hope this article offers some insight.
